It is vital that the correct size ducting is chosen. All Glotech ducting kits come complete with installation instructions.
Make sure that the ducting chosen is at least the same area size as the spigot connection on the hood before purchasing as using smaller ducting will adversely affect the airflow and noise level and may well invalidate the manufacturers warranty. Flexible hose kits are ideal for short runs (up to 1.5 metres) and is suitable for the ducting of both tumble dryers and cooker hood extractors. It is important that the flexible hose is kept as taut as possible and preferably in a straight line to ensure maximum airflow performance. Flat channel ducting kits contain enough ducting for runs up to 3 metres, rigid ducting is essential for this length of run. If the Glotech kit of your choice does not provide a suitable answer for your needs then additional items from our extensive range of bends, connectors, adaptors and clips may added to your kit or purchased separately. |

100mm / 4" ducting is recommended for low volume extraction of up to 250m3/hr. It is also recommended for bathrooms and toilets.
125mm / 5" ducting is recommended for all cooker hoods and high-powered fans with an extraction rate of up to 500m3/hr. Be sure to check the dimensions of the flat channel ducting. 150mm / 6" ducting is recommended for all cooker hoods, even the latest high-powered hoods that can exceed extraction rates of 1000m3/hr. Be sure to check the dimensions of the flat channel ducting.
