Ceramic Hobs Wide Quick Guide
The wide Ceramic Hob is the modern answer to the electric hotplate of yesteryear. Using either hidden elements or halogen lamp technology, the heat transfers through a super-tough glass top to the pan - up to 5 on some models. Easy to clean with safety features warning you if the surface is still hot, they are available in widths from 70cm. Although mostly black in colour, all manufacturers offer a choice of edge finishes - plain, bevelled or framed in white or stainless steel. Controls can be touch sensitive or rotary knob.
