| Review: | I bought the AEG side by side Fridge Freezer from Appliance Planet because I needed a high capacity side-by-side without all the extra gizmos normally found on American-style fridge-freezers. We valued freezer space - not an ice maker for the one really hot day in an average summer! The AEG looks fantastic - understated and sophisticated. It's very quiet and despite its size is hardly noticed in its alcove in our kitchen. The lighting inside is excellent - no difficulty with losing foods for days in dark and inaccessible corners! The layout is excellent. You can load the most used items into the fridge space at hand height for easy access. There'a huge and adjustable storage for salads and plenty of clever little fastenings and devices to avoid spills and accidents (such as the bottle holder or the adjustable wine bottle/can rack). The freezer is ideally laid out with plenty of small drawers which slide easily - even when fully chilled. This gives a huge advantage and minimises the amount of fervent scrabbling in the depths to find a particular item. Despite their size, both units are highly efficient and use minimal current. The freezer, despite its vertical open-door configuration chilled down to its required temperature remarkably quickly, and the easy-to-read controls easily allow one to vary temperature by single degree intervals if required.
All in all, the AEG is a beatifully engineered, superb looking piece of modern equipment which nonetheless blends well into our old property.
Finally - a word for the installation team who arrived when they said they would, installed the fridge-freezer quickly and effectively, gave simple instructions and cleared up all the packaging when they left |
